Representatives of Japan's 公益財団法人 安田奨学財団 (Yasuda Scholarship Foundation) visited our school for a detailed discussion of future cooperation and scholarship opportunities for our students.
The Yasuda Scholarship Foundation was established in 2005 and has, for many years, worked to support the education of international students in Japan and promising young people more broadly. The foundation has a long history of cooperation with Mongolia and has previously awarded scholarships to Mongolian students studying in Japan.
In the meeting, we presented our school's Japanese-language program and our exchange partnerships and short- and long-term programs with Japanese schools and educational institutions — in particular, the results and future direction of our program for students transferring to Japanese high schools — and exchanged views with the foundation.
As an initial outcome of the meeting, we reached a preliminary agreement on the following cooperation: students who pass our school's program for transferring to a Japanese high school and continue their studies in Japan will be selected, according to specific criteria, and — should they go on to be admitted to a university in Japan — will have the opportunity to receive a scholarship of ¥100,000 per month for four years.
In other words, the long-term educational pathway for our students — “Uudam Mongol → Japanese high school → Japanese university → higher education on a scholarship” — is becoming more concrete.
We will work out the detailed selection criteria, scope, and procedures with the Yasuda Scholarship Foundation, and once these are formally confirmed, we will share full details with students and parents.
