For the past two years, the Uudam Mongol School cafeteria has served students single-serve 150 ml packs of pasteurized milk from Harumafuji Milk Farm with their lunch, with the aim of increasing the consumption of milk and dairy products in students' daily diet.
From this school year, milk was planned as the lunch drink every Monday and Wednesday; now that Harumafuji Milk Farm's scheduled maintenance is complete, supply began again today.
Consuming milk and dairy products in appropriate amounts as part of a child's daily diet helps provide nutrients such as protein and calcium that are needed during the growing years.
Pasteurizing milk means heating it at a controlled temperature to reduce microorganisms that can cause foodborne illness, making it safer to consume.
It may seem small, but we are continuing, one by one, to make routine the efforts that build healthy daily habits in children.
