One of Uudam Mongol School's good traditions is continuing for the third year.
Each year, alumni who studied in Japan through our school's transfer program and are now continuing their education at university hold an essay competition for the younger students moving up to grade 10, and give a 50% tuition discount to each of the two students selected.
The value of this scholarship does not lie only in the tuition discount. It lies in the fact that students who once sat at the desks of this school, carrying their own dreams, are now supporting the dreams of the next generation of younger students.
Grade 10B student O. Setgeltuguldur has been selected for this year's “Alumni-Named Scholarship” and, with the support of alumni studying in Japan, received a 50% tuition scholarship.
In the essay “My Dream,” O. Setgeltuguldur writes about coming to be interested in Japan and the Japanese language and culture through stories told by the student's mother, and about the dream of becoming an architectural engineer and building a children's park in Mongolia.
“I also have one more wish: to ease this burden on my mother, even if only a little,” O. Setgeltuguldur wrote.
